A Rally and/or an evening in the Marolles district!

Have you heard of the Marolles, the colourful old district of Brussels where you can meet ordinary folk who have retained their individualism? Sterkmans Events offers the chance to discover all the facets of this ‘little village’ at the heart of Belgium’s cosmopolitan capital by taking part in a rally combined with a Marolles evening.

There are three distinct parts:

• The Red Thread allows visitors to discover the folklore and daily life in this district as well as its handicrafts and its architectural witnesses of the past.
• Questions for a Champion unfolds in a typical Marolles cafe.
• The tests are spread around the Old Market in picturesque localities. They include a photographic competition, a giant ‘Pictionnary’ and popular games.

During the evening, a little restaurant that is a mirror of the district awaits you for a meal with entertainment that gives Brussels the popular touch. It is an original Belgian cuisine
(often using homemade beer as the basic ingredient) prepared in an oven by the owner, and
a performance of ancient games during the cocktail, with an hour-long accompaniment by a barrel-organ, an accordionist, a musical trio or someone doing impressions – whichever you want.
All of this can be combined with a visit to a craft brewery or a visit to the museum of the
sewers.
